This week we started a trial week with tri alliance – a local club, and one that had been both recommended on google and through word of mouth. It also happened to be the closest club to where we now live (handy!) This week we went swimming in the local 50m pool…well the two 50m pools (one indoor one outdoor). We did combo sessions (brick sessions to those back home), with the terrible terrible 😉 location of being beachside.
Combo 1 consisted of a turbo session on the beach front, followed by running along the sea front path, followed by a sea swim. Combo 2 consisted of a long run along the sea front, followed by a mini duathlon and mini triathlon.
We also joined in the 1st long ride – however it did tip it down with rain and was freezing. The ridiculousness of Melbourne weather. 33 degrees on Thursday night, 10 degrees on Sunday. We were a little shocked by the start time of weekend sessions (involving us getting up at 5am!) but at least we had the whole day to enjoy afterwards….pretty much involved going back to bed for the day!
We also received the most incredible care package from home this week….we can’t express how amazing it was to receive this. Tea just isn’t the same…and to get tea bags and chocolate (especially after that freezing cold rain) was incredible. THANK YOU Jenny, Becky, Katie, Connie and Fiona…we love you!
Another thank-you this week must go back to where Kat worked in London – they very kindly gave us a gift voucher for David Jones (basically John Lewis) and we bought this incredible picnic set. Jonney has promised Kat a romantic picnic on the beach….we’re report back whether that happens!
We topped off the week with a visit to the noodle market that is currently in Melbourne CBD due to it being Good Food Week. 50 stalls….50 different types of food. Was pretty cool.
