Week 18 – World Cup Cricket

Week 18 –

This week the weather ramped up. Melbourne has been having a pretty ‘cool’ summer – I think we may have acclimatised a little too quickly, as we now consider 20degrees to be cold. However this week the weather soared – hello 35 degree heat!

Friday saw a first dinner party by us. It was meant to be an evening of tennis, swimming and food. However Melbourne decided to have an intense thunder and lightening storm – so it turned into pretty much just wine and food. Normal Friday night for once!

Saturday was the opening day of the cricket world cup where England took on Australia. It was never going to go well….

The heat was intense – we were 4 rows back in the MCG – and it was a fab day out. England were appalling – but was great to sit in the Barmy Army section and cheer on even when we were rubbish.

On brought Sunday, and not liking to sit on our laurels it was the Gatorade Triathlon Series race 3. And FINALLY Jonney decided to race. Better late that never. It also happened to be the Australian National Sprint Championships – was a race to start with! Separate race report on it – but the short story was Jonney came 8th in AG and Kat came 16th in AG – not a bad day out. Again searing heat – a little different from the British National Champs!

As it was Valentines Day weekend we finished the day at a bar/restaurant called Milk the Cow  in St Kilda where we had a cheese and booze ‘flight’, with the fizzy stuff of course. What a weekend.
