In March we ventured off to Adelaide – where ‘the fringe’ festival is held each year. Promised as the second largest comedy/music/play festival behind Edinburgh…and after going to Edinburgh only last year we had high hopes.
We watched plenty of comedy….which included both Australian comedians (Akmal), best of british emerging acts, and also a comedy duo which we had previously seen in Soho, London – Max and Ivan. It was a great few days with plenty of atmosphere to soak up.
After a fun few days in the city – which had the oddest time zone difference we had come across yet…30min behind Melbourne. We went up to the Adelaide Hills to the town of Hahndorf, which was like a little Germany. Only an hour away the stunning was beautiful – and we even managed a couple of cheeky runs. There we spent a day in the vineyards….hitch hiking with people we met in each vineyard – and buying a few bottles at the end of it! We ended up the day in a dairy with plenty of cheese and crackers.
